Fort Smith welcomes the Steel Horse Rally
TWICE TO SAVE A LIFE. >> WELL, STARTING AT 630 TONIGHT AT GARRISON AVENUE WILL BE OPEN ONLY TO MOTORCYCLES. FROM FIFTH STREET TO ROGERS AVENUE. NOW WE’RE ALREADY SEEING TRAFFIC BACKING UP COMING IN AND OUT OF DOWNTOWN FORT SMITH. LIKE HERE ON SECOND STREET. THE GOOD NEWS IS, ALL LANES OF THE GARRISON AVENUE BRIDGE ARE OPEN. AND OF COURSE, DRIVERS ARE ASKED TO BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS WITH ALL THE MOTORCYCLES IN TOWN. AND THERE’S EVEN A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN GET SOME EXTRA DIVINE INTERVENTION AND PROTECTION FOR YOU AND YOUR BIKE. >> LOTS OF MOTORCYCLES IN TOWN. THIS WEEKEND. WE JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU’RE LOOKING TWICE FOR MOTORCYCLES AND SAVE A LIFE. >> ONCE THE SUN CAME OUT, IT DID NOT TAKE LONG FOR MOTORCYCLES TO FILL THE SPOTS ALONG GARRISON AVENUE FOR THE 2024 STEEL HORSE RALLY, WE RAISE A LITTLE HECK, BUT WE RAISE IT IN JESUS CHRIST’S NAME. GARY DUKE AND THE CHRISTIAN MOTORCYCLIST ASSOCIATION HAVE BEEN BLESSING BIKES EVER SINCE THE STEEL HORSE RALLY STARTED TEN YEARS AGO, AND WE PRAY OVER YOUR BIKE OR WHATEVER NEEDS TO GO ON IN YOUR LIFE. >> IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING WE GOT TO SHARE WITH YOU STARTING AT 630 FRIDAY NIGHT AND AGAIN AT NINE SATURDAY MORNING, BIKES WILL FILL UP THE ENTIRE AVENUE. >> ALL THE SIDE STREETS WILL BE BLOCKED OFF. TRAFFIC WILL BE DETOURED FROM ROGERS AVENUE TO FIFTH STREET. >> SOMETHING TO DO. WE ENJOY IT JUST SIGHTSEEING REALLY. >> MY COUSIN. >> OH, WE JUST COME. WE JUST GO PLACES TOGETHER AND GO RIDE FOR THE BRYSON’S. >> THIS IS THEIR FIRST HORSE RALLY. I’M GETTING SOME THERAPY. >> WIND THERAPY? >> HOW ABOUT YOU? WELL, WE’RE LOOKING TO GO TO THE VINTAGE BIKE SHOW TOMORROW. >> YEAH, THAT’S HAPPENING OUTSIDE THE U.S. MARSHALS MUSEUM. ADMISSION INSIDE IS ALSO FREE ON SATURDAY. IT’S WHAT JOHN AND TINA STEEN EXPERIENCED TODAY ALL THE WAY FROM COLUMBUS, OHIO. ABOUT 850 MILES GOING OUT TO THE GRAND CANYON VERY, VERY HIGH QUALITY AND VERY INFORMATIVE. >> I’D RECOMMEND IT. UM, THERE’S A THERE’S A LOT MORE TO IT THAN YOU EVER THINK. >> GOOD ECONOMIC BOOST FOR OUR DOWNTOWN, REALLY FOR THE WHOLE CITY. >> JUST DOWN FROM THE MUSEUM SPOTS ARE FILLING UP FAST AT THE RIVERFRONT RV PARK. THEY EXPECT TO BE AT OR NEAR CAPACITY SOON. AND SO FAR, CAMPERS FROM COLORADO ARE THE ONES WHO MADE THE LONGEST TRIP TO FORT SMITH. >> IT’S AMAZING THAT THESE PEOPLE COME IN IN A HALF MILLION DOLLAR MOTOR HOME WITH A TRAILER BEHIND IT, AND THEN THEY’VE GOT A COUPLE OF HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH OF MOTORCYCLES IN IT. >> ORGANIZERS SAY GARRISON AVENUE COULD BE CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC UP TO TWO IN THE MORNING ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. NOW, YOU COULD GO ONLINE TO CHECK OUT ALL OF THE EVENTS THAT ARE HAPPENING AT THIS YEAR’S STEE
