This election demonstrates African countries' trust in Morocco's role, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, in promoting peace, prosperity, and development in Africa, the economics professor said in a statement following the election, which took place on Wednesday at the UNECA headquarters in Addis Ababa.
This shows once again that Morocco is a country of peace, conducting winning partnerships with African nations, he stressed, noting that this will help the Kingdom strengthen its relations with African countries and reinforce its position as a trusted partner and gateway to Africa.
The theme of this 57th session is “Advancing the implementation of the Agreement Establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area: proposing transformative strategic actions”, also covering the issues of digitization, technology, food security and energy transformation.
The session kicked off with the Committee of Experts meeting on March 12-14, followed by side events on March 15 and 16.
The ministerial segment will be held on March 17 and 18.
